Summer Bug Cake pop

These vanilla bumblebees were decorated with fondant, and white chocolate wings.    The chocolate ladybugs were decorated with black fondant spots and a junior mint face.  They were the perfect addition to a very special uncle and cousin’s birthday celebration.

Strawberry Season is here

What screams summer more than strawberry shortcake…strawberry shortcake cupcakes.  When I saw that fresh Ontario strawberries had arrived at my local farmers market, I could wait to find a recipe that screamed STRAWBERRIES.  These fluffy vanilla cupcakes were filled with a fresh strawberry preserve, topped with strawberry buttercream and finished off with a fresh strawberry.  MMMM!!!

Mud Pie Cupcakes

I had a request for a Mud Pie inspired creation this weekend.  These Mocha flavoured cupcakes were filled with chocolate ganache and a sprinkle of cookie crumbs, then topped with swiss merengue mocha icing and finished with a mini oreo cookie, and of course, more chocolate.baking, toronto, cupcakes, birthday, wedding, party

Spiderman Cake

Posted on

Last week a very precious little boy turned three.  This little guy is so into spiderman that I was shot with a web as soon as I arrived.  Needless to say, this spiderman cake was a perfect choice.  The design was borrowed from a talented cake designer, Bobbie at BMT cake designs http://www.bmtcakedesigns.com/.

The bottom layer of the cake was vanilla with vanilla buttercream.  The top layer was chocolate with caramel buttercream.   The cupcakes were chocolate and vanilla with cotton candy buttercream icing.  The cupcake toppers and cake decorations were made with fondant and gumpaste.  The only part that was not edible was the spiderman figurine on the top of the cake.

It’s Barbeque season

I made these brownie burgers for Fathers Day.    I paired them with sugar cookies baked to look like french fries.  My dad loved them so much he brought some into work the next day.

The packaging was a PDF from Bakerella’s website.  I can create custom packaging to match your event.
