I made this rose cake for my mom’s birthday. It was a butter pecan cake with caramel icing. Next time I would airbrush it pink.

Over the past 15 years many of us have often wondered if I was a Carrie, a Charlotte, a Miranda or a Samantha. I was devastated when my four gorgeous friends left the air and I have waited patiently to see them again in each of the movies. It might be a while before there is another sequel but this weekend I felt like I got to spend some time with my favourite ladies once again when a client asked for a Sex and the City themed bridal shower cake.
This was a red velvet cake with cookies and cream buttercream. The shoe, lime, pearls and ring box were edible. I am sure there were plenty of cosmos at the bridal shower but this martini glass was filled with jello instead.
Last week a very precious little boy turned three. This little guy is so into spiderman that I was shot with a web as soon as I arrived. Needless to say, this spiderman cake was a perfect choice. The design was borrowed from a talented cake designer, Bobbie at BMT cake designs http://www.bmtcakedesigns.com/.
The bottom layer of the cake was vanilla with vanilla buttercream. The top layer was chocolate with caramel buttercream. The cupcakes were chocolate and vanilla with cotton candy buttercream icing. The cupcake toppers and cake decorations were made with fondant and gumpaste. The only part that was not edible was the spiderman figurine on the top of the cake.
